A CLEARER FIRST ASSESSMENT

Show the damage.
Get useful advice.

Clear photos help us understand the problem before you visit our Marcoola workshop. They do not always replace an in-person inspection.

Three useful views

  1. A wider view: show the whole affected panel and where it sits on the vehicle.
  2. A close-up: keep the damaged area sharp and in focus.
  3. Another angle: move slightly to one side so a reflection reveals the dent or scratch.

Use even daylight where possible. Avoid filters and strong glare. Only photograph the vehicle when it is safely parked. Keep unrelated people, documents and personal information out of the picture.

Tell us about the vehicle

Include the make, model and year, which panels are affected, and any known previous repairs.

What to show for your damage

Dents and door dings

Show where the dent sits in relation to a body line or panel edge. Tell us if the paint is cracked or the panel has been repaired before. Read about Paintless Dent Repair suitability.

Hail damage across several panels

Photograph the affected panels in even light and list the panels you believe are damaged. Reflections can hide small dents, so an inspection under repair lighting may reveal more than phone photos. Mention any broken glass, water entry or damage that affects safe use of the vehicle. See the hail assessment and insurance steps.

Bumper scuffs, cracks and paint damage

Include the whole bumper and any adjacent panel damage, plus a close-up of the scuffs, scrapes or cracks. Tell us about affected sensors, lights, cameras, mounting points or loose parts. Explore bumper and minor paint repairs.

Scratches and paint chips

Show the mark in a close-up and from another angle if reflections hide it. Mention any previous panel repair and whether a dent is also present. Avoid applying touch-up paint before the assessment, as it can obscure the original damage. Read about scratch and minor panel repairs.

Fleet and multiple-vehicle damage

Keep each vehicle’s photos and damage details clearly identified. Include the number of vehicles, each make and model, the affected panels and a short damage list. Tell us your timing needs and preferred availability. Discuss fleet repair assessments.

Can a dent be repaired without repainting?

Paintless Dent Repair may be suitable when the finish is intact and the metal can be reshaped. Dent depth, stretched metal, body lines, panel edges and access can change the answer. Cracked paint or a previous respray also needs a closer look. Learn about PDR suitability.

What happens after you send photos?

We review the damage and contact you to discuss the next step. We may need to inspect the vehicle under repair lighting before confirming a method, quote or booking. Your enquiry does not commit you to a repair.

The assessment form accepts up to three photos, up to 8 MB each. A phone number is required so we can contact you. Once the request is saved, the website displays a confirmation and enquiry reference.
